I sold my MA long ago but my son's torso is right about 16 inches so I'd guess he would be pretty close to outgrowing the seat by now if he were to sit in one. He's 3yrs 5 months old

ETA: I tried Caleb out in the classic MA today at Target and he was even with the top slots while it was sitting on the floor so my guess is he would be slightly over it while in the car.

DS who is 6 years old outgrew(DD seat though his seats were Radians) it this past fall by weight. I have the old Canadian seat with a limit of 47lbs. By height he would most likely be borderline if not over right now.

I bought my DD a Frontier 85 in September (she had just turned 6) - not because she grew out of her Marathon it but because it was too babyish. She was 45" at the time but she is all legs! She had also just cracked 40 lbs. at that point, so she probably wouldn't have outgrown it by weight until about 8th grade. :D

25 months, 36.5 inches, 32 pounds.

That's what my 2.5 yr old looks like in the FPSVD! :)

My nephew, now 5, outgrew the FPSVD I loaned them at 3 yrs...went into a Graco Nautilus...and outgrew the harness shortly after he was 4...

DS1, also now 5, outgrew the FPSVD & Decathlon by height when he was 4.5...maybe 41" and 35 lbs or so.

DS2, 2.5 yrs, 36", and 33 lbs, is over the third slots in the FPSVD already.

4 years and a few months. She was even with slots and DD2 was needing it because she was maxing out the SR22 at 18 months. I can't believe all these 2 and 3 year olds! I thought DD1 had a long torso :p

DD was just shy of her 6th birthday when she outgrew it by height, she's all legs.

DS will be 5 in two months, he is going to just move up to the top slots soon, he's also all legs.

Both kids are about 60% for height.

Both X and R were about 6. I think E would still fit in it now and he's 6.5, but I'm pretty sure Z (2.5) would probably outgrow it very soon. It's crazy how similar in size those 2 are considering that they're 4 yrs apart.

Based on a 16 inch torso:

Dd1 would have been age 7. Dd2 age 6. Ds1 was 6. Dd3 has ample room to grow and she's 6 now.

Jeffrey would have made it to 5yrs old (by 6, he was outgrowing the Radian, so I don't think he would have made it any longer than that)
GrowRoomJMarathon.jpg

He was 4.5yrs in these pics... I don't have a pic of Damian, but he was a lot leggier and at 5.5yrs, he was AT the top slots... and then, a year later, he outgrew the Regent... yep... a weird kid.

Ruthie was AT the 3rd slots at 2.5yrs. I don't have pics, but I checked her when we were looking at other seats at BRU as she got older, and she would have outgrown it by age 4)

Nah, I think these types of surveys have a pretty strong response bias where people whose kids outgrew the seats early (or know of kids that outgrew the seats early) are far more likely to respond. I suspect that if we had a more careful study of what the average age is for a kid to outgrow a marathon, we'd find that somewhere around age 5 is typical, and kids who outgrow it before age 4 are extremely unusual (statistically speaking).
