Cheap FF car seat for DH's truck

DS is 41" tall, 37 lbs and 3.5 years old. We need a cheap seat for my husband's truck when he shuttles him back and forth around town. Primarily we always drive my vehicle, but a seat for a quick run to the store, etc.

What's he sitting in now and where are his shoulders in that seat? (That will give us an idea of his torso height.)

The Evenflo Maestro is on sale at ToysRUs right now for $99 if you have one in your area. If you don't, the Evenflo Chase has much shorter top slots and won't last as long, but if he fits (his shoulders are under the top slots and his ears are below the top of the shell) Walmart usually has it for $99. But it makes a terrible booster, so please don't use it as one.

He's usually in a Radian premier in the second-from-top-slot.

So about a 15.5" torso. I believe the top slots on the Maestro are pushing 18". Sounds like this is the way to go.

Just 2nd'ing the Maestro.

My guy is on the 2nd from top RF, so top for FF & has room to grow in his Maestro. I think he's on the 2nd from top on the Maestro, but we have them on the top b/c he shares the seat & we didn't want to adjust them mid-year, it's his d/c seat...

I have a friend w/ that & a Nautilus & she prefers the Maestro. She likes the size, straps, harness & cover better...
