I a car seat freak, well i just learned by watching a youtube video that the back of the infant car seat can't touch the back of the car's seat...is that really true?

No, it's not true as a general rule. There is at least one manufacturer that did/does not allow it though. I'll let someone else chime in with the specifics.

Sometimes. If it's touching the passengers seat and you have advanced airbags it's true. It can screw up the airbag sensor. If you have an Evenflo it's true (handle down AND 1.5" of clearance). Otherwise they can gently touch, but not brace. If you can get your hand or a piece of paper between them they're ok.

Evenflo infant seats require 1.5 inches of clearance behind the front seat. Also, some vehicles equipped with advanced front airbags don't allow a rear facing carseat to touch the front seatback(s) due to possible interference with the sensors for the advanced airbags so it's necessary to double check the vehicle's manual, especially in the airbag section and in the child restraint section of the manual, for any restrictions against touching as well.

What was the video you saw?

OH and for the Graco Snugride 22, you cannot use the handle down in the "C" position. That's the one where it's flesh with the shell. For the 32, 35 and SS1 you can. Not sure about the 30.
