Seat belt buckle on backwards?

I'm pretty sure that the buckle on the seat belt of the rear passenger side (2nd row 2006 Honda Pilot) is on backwards. I never noticed b/c dd's Frontier had been installed with LATCH, but we've decided to let her try it as a booster on a trial basis, and lo and behold, I swear the buckle is facing the wrong way. Dh says it'll be impossible for me to flip it back the correct way b/c of the thickness of the webbing. What do I do? Try anyway? Take it to the dealer? Ignore it if it's not really a big deal (I have no idea--first booster rider)?

Is it possible that the vehicle seat flips down? I know a few times after our seat was folded I found the buckle stalk was twisted the wrong way. I put the seat back down and was able to access it from the back and fix it.

If that's not possible, yeah, take it to the dealer, it's annoying if nothing else.

Are you referring to the buckle stalk, or the buckle tongue?

It's pretty common to see the buckle tongues turned around, it just tends to happen sometimes during use, the belt gets folded over itself lengthwise and the buckle tongue gets slid over the folded belt and voila! it's backwards! Reversing it isn't usually too difficult, you just have to do those steps in reverse.

But if you're talking about the buckle stalk, I'd try Ketchup's suggestion and then go to a dealer if that doesn't work.

I believe you have simple locking retractors... so it's pretty easy... you fold the belt over itself once (180*) and wedge it (point first) through the sliding latchplate, which will flip it the right way.

trust me, it's trickier with vehicles like my dodge caravan, where we have lightweight locking latchplates... even after the last time, if it happened again, I'd have to look up in the manual to remember just how to maneuver it, because it's more complicated than slidding latchplates.
