Has to do with new carseat laws in Brasil...

Thought you might like this. I cant find it in english yet but basically Brasil has made a new law as of tomorrow that all children up to 10 yrs old need to be in car seats till 7 then boosters till 10 then seat belts after that. The fine is $191 and 50 points off your drivers license. The cheaper car seat is $100 but ...they are all sold out and now only $700 and $900 are available in the main cities. This is all brand new to me but interesting none the less. Last time we went, i did not see one single car seat in the 3 weeks I was there.

Brasil has always been progressive, especially since they actually have Brasilian carseats... (Much of South America uses their carseats) I've also got to give credit to Costa Rica (Central America, not South, but same concept here) for implementing a similar law a couple of years ago. The problem in South and Central America, however? Compliance! Booooooo.
