Hello Folks,

First of all thank you very mcuh for all the info on here. :)

My wife and I are due in Oct and we want a Britax Chaperone but not sure if it can fit in a Honda CRV 2008. I have heard that it will. But would like to make sure before I buy.

Thank you
Brett

I heard that 30% over is fine by Transport Canada.

I haven't heard this but that doesn't mean it's not true. For these types of issues, the manufacturer is the final word. I'd suggest giving Britax Canada a call. You can find the number on their website.

I'd skip the Chaperone in the CR-V if you're planning on using the centre seating position.. I believe they implemented a dedicated set of centre lower anchors in 2009 and not 2008? If that's the case--it's a skip. The Chaperone is large and that CR-V centre seat is a nightmare. I'd look towards the KeyFit if I had a CR-V, even with just one child. I would also try out the larger Graco seats well before the Chaperone.

I'm a Britax gal, and I had a Companion for one of my kids..but Britax infant seats (other than the CosyTot/BabySafe) have never wow'd me. Get a Graco, save a bit of coin and roll it into a really nice convertible you'll be using for a long, long time :)

There's not a dedicated center set of UAS anchors in the 08, but the 07 and forward has five lower anchors. A dedicated set for the driver's side outboard position and three more that can be used by the center position or passengers outboard, but not both simultaneously. My ILs have an 08. I didn't realize that the 09 had a dedicated center set. That's cool.

'09 isn't 100% dedicated, I think it's the total of 5. My mom has an '08 (I believe? Now I'm wondering.) and only has two outboard sets. Bizarre. :) If their '08 has the 5 anchors I'd be game for the Chaperone in the centre. It's something to check. I'd still take a Graco or the KeyFit over the Chaperone, though, especially considering the CR-V centre seat can be picky.

What I would not do is plan on using the Chaperone and a seatbelt install centre in the CR-V. In my experience, CR-V centre non-LATCH installs are among the most incompatible.

That is bizarre. I've installed my Radian in the center of my IL's CR-V with UAS and I know theirs is at least as old as 08...might even be an 07. Definitely 5 anchors. I completely agree that a seatbelt install in the center of a CR-V is generally a bad idea:p
