The Norwegian traffic council has made this video and translated it into English to spread the important message:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sssIsceKd6U"]YouTube- Rear facing vs forward facing position in the car[/ame]

I got this link:

http://blog.ted.com/2008/06/are_childrens_c.php

with a question if I'd seen it and what I thought about it. My response to her was nice but OMG!!!

What a bunch of malarky! I cannot believe this is going around the web!!!:jaw:

Deaths yes but there are a certain # of unsurvivable crashes plus seats used incorrectly. What about the life changing injuries like poor little Joel? He doesn't even talk about ERF, only using an adult seatbelt.

Oh, you don't have to watch the whole stupid thing, it doesn't get any better, just made me more mad with each minute.

I've seen that Steven Levitt video before and it is really annoying that people actually buy the stuff he is saying.

By the way nice of you all not to mention my error in the first message (or perhaps everyone thought we had a Norwegian tragic council? LOL ;))

The freakanomics video is clear evidence that cherry picking research plus having a charismatic personality can be deadly. He wants to sell a book, nothing more.

The video has been shown abt. 650 times now, it only had 18 views when I posted this thread yesterday. Hope the message gets through to many parents :)

Nice video, thanks for this! I had my DH watch it - short, sweet, and to the point. He will default to me on the ERF when it comes time, I'm sure, as I'm the one who has done the research, but it's a nice visual to him of why I made the choices I did.

Not to mention very clear and simple for when we start getting flak from relatives.
