Question Radian XT install ???

Hi folks

Just a quick question as to whether or not I can use a pool noodle in-front of the boot of the Radian? Not under it. To get the seat angle upright in my van I need to pull it back from the bite of the seat before tightening the UAS. But it rather quickly slides back into the bite of the seat and becomes over reclined again. I am thinking a noodle in-front of the boot might help prevent this. Is this acceptable?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, as far as I know the ONLY way to not be over-reclined in that seating position is to install the Radian with seatbelt, using every trick in the book (push down at the feet, stand behind and push in with your body, etc.) and it will only stay at the right angle with smaller kids. If you're going to have an older heavier/taller kid there, it will within a few days slip back to be overreclined again.

I've heard it does install better in the back row, though.

I'm installing it RFing for my 28 mos old, 30lb ds... So it sounds like it will continue to slip based on his weight... ??? sigh... Maybe I will try with the belt and see if it helps - guessing it won't - or won't help much if any...

3rd row would be too difficult for me to get him in and out while RFing...

Any other options??

Thanks all!

Sadly, if it does slip, and you can't use it in the back row (have you tried playing musical seats to give yourself more access back there?) your option is to use a different seat. :(

Thanks again. I really don't want to get into another seat. This is seat #11 (for only 2 kids) so I think dh would throttle me! lol...

And Tam (Hi!) I will try the seat belt install to see if it helps. there is no side to side movement, so the UAS positions seem okay - but if the belt will hold it more forward from where the UAS would, then it might help for slippage. TechMara was okay with the angle when she saw it, but I think it has slipped even further since then... :(

I'll let you all know how it goes!
thanks again,
Anjer ;)
