Just got this email today:

Cotton Babies
June 22, 2010

The last couple of years has been a wild ride for Cotton Babies and the brands we created. We started out on our product venture with a tiny shipment of diapers that sold out within hours on December 21st, 2005. Since that date, the production lines haven't stopped and our most popular brand, bumGenius, has gone on to be sold all over the world, winning awards and accolades from media nearly everywhere it goes.

In keeping with our long standing tradition of excellence, we have been working on something new for quite some time. I'm not very good at keeping secrets, so news has gotten out here and there about what might be new. Speculation from you and your friends has been quite literally all over the map about what the new product might be. Up until today, we weren't 100% sure of when we could tell you, but finally, we have a date. I am excited to announce that a new bumGenius product will be born on June 29th!

We're confident that you will be just as excited about this new product as we are. So, immediately following my announcement, we will open up to preorders. We begin actually shipping orders on July 14th.

Something fun and new is coming. But that usually means that we have to say goodbye to something else. So, it is with slightly heavy hearts that we have to announce that we have discontinued our highly acclaimed bumGenius 3.0 One-Size Cloth Diapers. If you're in the midst of building your stash, we still have a limited inventory available at the awesome Buy 5, Get 1 Free deal (while supplies & coupons last). Shop now or forever hold your peace! :)

We'll email you soon with details of when and where the new product announcement will be made.... have a great Tuesday everyone!

Kindest Regards,

IM really sad that the 3.0s are being discontinued. That was my main stash for DD and I planned to use them again when we have #2.

I have heard rumors that the Aplix will be replaced with snaps. I will be really sad if that happens. Im not a fan of front snaps, but I LOVE the BGs.

See I'm opposite, I love the snaps, my daycare kiddos can get out of the dipes with aplix. So I end up converting them to snaps anyways.

Me and my 60 bgos with velcro will be right here...

I'm sad to see them go, but glad I have all I need for dd to pl. They lasted from 6m to pl w/ ds. :)

What a bummer they are getting rid of the BG OS. Isn't that one of their top sellers? This must be (or at least they had better hope it is) REALLY good to take such a step.

Glad I have enough to at least get DD2 through. I'm wondering if I should pick up a few gender neutral colors for the next bitty, though...

Well the speculation over at DS is that they will introduce a 4.0 pocket dipe in new colors and prints (this of course is just total speculation as no one has the inside scoop). They are saying that it's all a marketing ploy to clear out all the old stock.

I mostly use 3.0s and love them, but A has discovered how to undo the aplix so I wouldn't mind a snap version. He's getting close to outgrowing them and so far has no intrest in the potty so I've switched to large fbs and gads mostly when he's just in a dipe.

i won't miss them i hate hate hate their aplix, I have 3 bg diapers and on all but 1 that isn't used as much the aplix is pretty much shot and I haven't even had them 6 months yet.... :-( for a diaper thats supposed to last to potty-training its not doing a good job if its not even going to last through the first year

I just hope whatever they come out with is more long-lasting than their previous versions. Snaps or better/stronger aplix, and stronger elastic. As wonderful as the diapers are overall, they need to be MUCH more durable to be worth the $18 per diaper they are charging.

The whole stash I bought for DS1 four years ago is totally shot, absolutely no resale value unless I do some major sewing work, so that's a real bummer. The other brands I bought at the same time have stood the test of time, even though most of them were cheaper.

I'm excited to see what they're coming out with. I HATE BG 3.0s. They didn't last to PL, the aplix sucks, the microfiber smells.

Blah, pretty much in my opinion, they can only go up! :p:love:
