Would you buy a booster seat second hand?

I just came across an add for 2 Clek booster seats for $40 each, these are the first model that came out. They are 3 years old.
BUT they are second hand, and I do not know the seller at all.
I wouldn't buy a harnesses seat from someone I did not know and trust, nor would I bout a booster seat with armrests from someone I did not know or trust.....
But I'm torn on this one. There is NO arm rests, and its just the cushion and the latches.....

Errrm, according to the Clek website, all of their boosters have arms. So where did the arms go?

No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't buy any lifesaving device from someone who wasn't trustworthy.

The CA version that came out first didn't have armrests....that is probably what she speaks of. I don't know if I would have a problem with it or not, probably not but I'm not a tech and I haven't ever come across that issue.

Ah, ok. I checked Clek's Canadian site, and the carseat pictorials and didn't see any without arms.

No, I still wouldn't. Have they been wrecked? The LATCHes played with? Since they do have LATCH, were they properly installed?

Interesting, but it doesn't change my basic feeling that I would not trust a stranger's carseat care savvy. (I'm also not sure I'd *want* an armless backless.)

I think I'm going to pass....and was told there was one Canadian Tire store that still have 2 of these in stock (they were selling for about $100, and they have knocked them down to $40 because they are 3 years old)

The Clek Oto is the one with no arms. I had two, sold them both, and just bought one nib from someone on here. She still has one brand new that she's not using.

And no, I wouldn't but one off CL. How do you know her kid didn't throw it out the window or something.

They're not armrests, but aren't those bits on the sides for the seatbelt to go through, just like armrests on other boosters?
