Head slump in Radian? any other advice too!

We are considering moving DD5 out of her MA when she reaches 40lb. I was thinking of getting a radian however DD still naps in her seat. Do you get head slump in this seat? DH has the GN in his truck and she slumps pretty bad in it!
Any other recommendations for seats? I would like to keep her in a 5pt. for at least another year (or two) as she is a skinny minny! Do you think it is important to get a seat that can transition to a HBB? I suppose it would be more of a long term seat but besides the Frontier I haven't found one I really like. (and I worry about the complaints on the mesh w/ the Frontier)

Dd had horrible horrible head slump in the Radian. She has slight head slump in the Nautilus, but nothing that bothers her whereas the Radian she'd be woke up by her head jolting forward. The Frontier was bad for the head slump as well, definitely worse than the Nautilus.

That being said, it really seems to vary from child to child. Some kids slump more in one seat than another.

I think it mostly depends on the recline of the vehicle seat. The recline (in the carseat itself) foot helps the seat recline a bit, but if you have a reclinable seatback, putting it back a notch can totally eliminate slump. If no vehicle recline is available, it's iffy... might be fine, might be slump central :/. My kiddo is completely headflop-free in our Radian in the minivan, but in the Escape with set seats, her head bobs like an apple...

oh, I never thought about reclining the vehicle seat. I'll have to try that with the nautilus from DH's truck and see how it is in my car. Thanks!

Yeah, I'm not liking the Radian FF'ing much because of the head slump thing.... in either one of our vehicles, whether or not we recline the carseat his head flops forward. Neither of our vehicles have back seats that can be reclined. It was just as bad in Grandpa's truck too....
(the "recline" setting of the Radian doesn't seem to really recline it though, just angles up the bottom of the seat....maybe it'd recline w/ seatbacks that were reclined though)

My middle DD and oldest DS never have headslump in the radian. Middle DD has used it as her primary seat since she hit 35 lbs at 22 months old.
