    Canada: Lowest profile backless booster?

We just bought a new truck. DD (almost 11) doesn't *quite* 5-step - the lap belt is just slightly up on her belly. Her current booster (Turbobooster) makes her sit up too high. So need a very low profile backless - she probably only needs an inch or two of height.

    2016 Odyssey vs 2017 Sedona?

In our search for a new vehicle we have narrowed down our mini-van choices to these two (although still have a couple of SUV's we are considering). We would go with the base model of both picks so neither will have all of the extra safety features. We are a family of 4 with no plans for more...

Vehicle for up to 6 passengers?

We were planning on giving our current car one more winter, but now looks like we will be replacing it asap (apparently our winter tires are worn right down and replacing them for one season is kind of pointless - may as well buy a new vehicle now instead of waiting for spring). We are a family...

Thoughts on the Harmony backless booster?

We are heading to Ireland this summer and DD (10 - but small) will be coming along. We will be taking a cab and renting a car. She currently rides in a backless Turbo, but it is so heavy. I was looking at the Harmony at Walmart and it seems very light and at $18 the price is right. Just...

UAS boosters - yay or nay?

We needed a new backless booster for DD, so I bought a Graco Affix today. No matter how many times I remind her, she often forgets to buckle her seat when she gets out so I thought this would be perfect. Then today I read this...

Frontier in booster mode - a couple of questions...

We just converted DS's Frontier into booster mode. The seatbelt in our car is lower than the back of the Frontier - so the seatbelt has to go upwards, and then back down to fit in the belt guide - is this ok, or have I done something wrong? The manual was not very clear. Also, what am I...

Question Broken arm rest on Frontier...

Just noticed that one of the arm rests on DS's Frontier is loose. The red plastic piece where the screw goes through has broken. Can this be replaced? Is it a common problem - ie is this covered under any sort of recall/warranty? Is the seat safe to use in the meantime? Thanks!

Are there any good reasons to keep them RF/harnessed past a certain age?

DS just turned 4 and is still RF'ing. He is still well within the seat limits at 28lbs and almost 3 inches of headspace in his seat. I know he could stay RF'ing longer, but I'm just done with it. At 4 is there really any reason to keep him RF'ing if he's still within the seat limits? When we...

True Fit C630 vs C670 cover?

Just received our new TrueFit. They *regretfully* (thier words - lol) had to send us a C670 to replace our C630 b/c of the new 2012 regulations. As far as I can tell the seats are identical except for the anti rebound bar. We have to send the old seat back, but I'm assuming our old cover...

What is the consensus on winter coats in booster seats?

The kids have always worn thin fleece jackets in their car seats. THis year however DD is in a booster seat sometimes. I was just wondering what the thoughts are on winter jackets and boosters? Her jacket is short and the lap portion of the belt easily goes under the jacket across her hips...

Car seat replacement rules after accident in different provinces?

I am not happy with SGI's rules for replacing car seats after an accident. I find it highly unacceptable that they only replace in severe crashes, despite manufacturers and Transport Canada saying otherwise. I am trying to gather as much information as I can to try and have SGI's policies...

    Rear-ended today...

It wasn't too bad - bumper of the car is cracked. DS was RF'ing in his TrueFit and asked what happened, but it wasn't hard enough to scare him. I'm assuming his seat needs to be replaced. No injuries, but my neck is a little sore. DD's Frontier was installed, but empty at the time - can't...

    quick install help!

We are trying to install a complete air in my parents 2000 dodge intrepid. We'd prefer it RF'ing, but have been unable to get it tight in any of the positions. Seem to have it tight forward facing (DS is 3, and will only be using the seat for a week so after fighting for an hour to RF it we...

Transport Canada telling people no restrictions on selling seats?

Someone just told me that they contacted TC about selling a 2009 seat and were told there are no restrictions? Where is the 2012 compliant info that I can point them towards?

What seat would YOU get in this situation?

DD is 6 1/2 and weighs 39lbs fully clothed. She sits really well in her seat and rarely falls asleep. She is currently riding in our truck in a July 2006 Marathon - so it is expiring right away (not sure if that is end of July or beginning of July though?). We are going camping next week and...

    Booster questions...

Maturity wise, my 6 year old is ready for a booster. She sits well in the car and rarely falls asleep and when she does she remains upright. Our only stumbling block has been her weight. At home she comes in at 35 lbs. Today at the Dr with clothes and shoes on she came in at 39lbs. It is...

Second seat for 35lb 6 yo?

I don't want to spend a ton of $$ on a new seat for DD, but need a new one for our second vehicle (truck) for the summer. It's too much of a PITA to transfer her Frontier b/c of the top tether in the truck. I had high hopes of switching her to a booster this summer, but doesn't look like that...

    Borrowing CARES?

Are the CARES harnesses still available for borrowing? I'd love to borrow one for mid January - early February. Thanks!

    Question quick help with Marathon

I realize that someone posted a similar question right below, but I need this seat in less than an hour! I went to flip our Marathon forward facing and it will not lock in the upright position - it keeps slipping back to the rear facing one. Is there any way to get it to lock or is it toast...
