Hi,
I know that in the past, Britax seats worked well. More options are on the market now, so the Graco convertibles and 3-in-1s are options, as is the Chicco Nextfit.
Do you have a particular budget? Anyone else in the car?

I’m still using my Chicco keyfit 30 (base and seat) rear facing for my 13 month old. I put her in the car seat while it’s detached and facing me, then turn it around and attach it. To get her out of the seat I unhook the seat from the base, turn seat around and get her out. Thankfully I’m short (4’11) and can fit in the space of the backseat and do all this. I’ll keep doing this till I need to switch out the car seat due to her outgrowing the Chicco bc of weight.
I determined someone needs to come up with a car seat that swivels (rear facing to forward facing) for cars like the beetle! Or have a base system that converts to forward facing..
There is actually a swivel seat; the Cybex Sirona S.
If the KeyFit with base fits without pressing on the front seat, you should have lots of options for convertibles. Many convertibles will take up less space rear-facing than the infant seat. I’d suggest loading/unloading her from the opposite side from where her seat is. Flip the front seat forward and climb into the back with her to load/unload from inside the car.
Any of the Britax convertibles (other than the One4Life), the Graco TrioGrow, Graco Extend2Fit, or Graco Sequel/Sequence would all be good, compact options.
