2008 Honda Civic

We are looking at purchasing a 2007 or 2008 Honda civic. We currently drive a 1997 subaru and we have uptowns in them for our almost 3 year old twins. They are currently rear facing, but we are about to hit the RF weight limit and will probably turn them soon-ish. That being said -this is our second car and the kids drive in it maybe 2-3 times a year.

Is there anything I should know about carseat installation (two of them) in an 07/08 civic?

No center LATCH. No bracing against the passenger's seat. Other than that, nothing remarkable.

I have a 2006 Civic (same as the 07/08/09/10). It is a DREAM to install seats in as long as you are using the seatbelt. The LATCH anchors are a PITA to access, so I primarily use the seatbelts.

I have not had any issues with any seat I have installed. In the past four years, I have successfully installed (there are probably more that I am just forgetting!):

Graco Snugride 22
Graco Snugride 35
First Years Via
Chicco KeyFit
Britax Chaperone
Orbit Baby

Britax Marathon
Britax Boulevard
Cosco Scenera
Safety First Complete Air
Safety First Avenue
First Years True Fit
Evenflo Triumph
Sunshine Kids Radian XT

Graco Nautilus
Britax Frontier/Frontier 85
Britax Regent
Recaro YoungSport

And a bunch of different boosters. :)

It is a GREAT little car. Enjoy!

My only complaint with installing seats in our '08 Civic is the tether anchors are so close to the seat that it makes tightening the tether a PITA. On one carseat (sorry can't remember what) I couldn't tighten the tether as much as ideal because even at its shortest setting it was a little too long.

This!! I can't tighten any of the top tethers as much as I'd like (one reason we chose the GN) and you're not allowed to route it over the headrest. You'll probably have to remove the headrests to get a good install with most FF seats.

The center anchor of the two outboard anchors (if that makes sense) seem to have some kind of hard plastic right above it that makes even the IMMI clips hard to get on/in there. But yeah.... seatbelt, everything's a dream!

I love my 08 Civic and never seem to have trouble with my lower or top tethers. I have used

Evenflo Bolero
Evenflo Generations
Sunshine Kids Radian
Britax Marathon
Graco Myride
Graco Safeseat
Graco Snugride 22

Cool -thanks! We are still rear facing, so I don't have any experience with tethers. I'm driving a rental Yaris right now and I'm amazed at how much room they have -so I might consider a Honda FIT too!

Three across in a Fit is actually easier than in a Civic. There's more room. I've done the exact same three across in both cars, and in the Civic the seats were all touching. In the Fit, there was an inch or so of space between each of the seats, and between the seats and the doors.
