Different lock-offs on MA/BV/DC

I recall some of you mentioning that you have trouble with the lock-off for the shoulder belt staying closed on your Marathon/Boulevard/Decathlon. For the life of me, I couldn't figure that one out b/c mine is solid as a rock. Then... I went to Buy Buy Baby today and looked at the *newer* ones. The lock-off is much smaller than mine and looks quite delicate! It's black, right? Well, mine is a huge orange (red?) mechanism that doesn't budge. Wonder if the small black one is the one some of you have...?

Just a thought.

I think that's right -- the black ones can be problematic.... Mine never was, though, thankfully. There's a sticky at the top about it :)

They all have a new style...don't remember the color (black I'm guessing, but my 2005 MA has a black one too)...it's a little knob thingy and it rotates against the belt into a groove. It first came out on the DC, and now is on all the big Britax convertibles. Not sure if they put it on the RA or not.

Yep, they new ones are on the RAs too. I installed one new right out of the box last Thursday. It was installed RFing, so I didn't use it, but it was there.

Were the "red" ones different than the "old black" ones? My 03 WZ has black ones, but they are a lot more substantial than the new little black ones.

Ah man, now I'm not liking the idea of Britax sending me new seats if I get crummy lock offs!
Mine are black, but they're pretty big. You slide the belt into a grove and then close the lever on the bottom, which closed the groove and clamps the belt. But the ones on the Roundabout are like one way levers. So... the new seats have those levers, or something else entirely?

I've not had problems with either of mine. I have the old red ones on the RA and the newer black ones on my MA.

The red ones look different, yes. Hmm how to describe..and I said I wasn't posting til my head fog cleared didn't I? LOL Oops
Well, here goes anyway, if I foul something completely this time, just kick me, k? ;)
The red ones on my RA have, oh man, LOL not the little thumb flip lever like the black, but rather the belt slides in the groove then this longer button/lever type thing clasps against it and holds it tight. Whereas the black one rather flips to 'close' the slot in which the belt went. The red one has a piece that holds tight against it.

Did that make ANY sense whatsoever?

I can't even take a pic, dh has the truck. *shrug*

Splash, I have a new blvd and the lock offs on mine suck. I've never been able to use the rfing ones because they won't stay closed and I tried to use the ff ones the other day in the semi and I couldn't hardly get them closed. I never had any problems with my old marathon so I am really not happy.
