Baby Trend ProTect Sport at Walmart

I was at Walmart the other day returning my Scenera NEXT (boo) and spotted the Protect Sport for $139. I have no idea how it is different than the other seats in the line, but it is a nice black and green and seemed like a good deal.

I believe that this is the rebranded first years true fit. If it is, it's a nice seat.

Yes, it is. So I found the Sport version appears to have a flip foot recline whereas the Premiere has a recline base with 5 positions. Neither version has the ARB.

So would you recommend this seat, the sport version? Or would you say that the graco clone or something similar would be better?

I really don't know much about this seat, as I have not had the chance to play with one. It all depends on what you need. I ordered a TrueFit iAlert to try before I got my NextFit. I liked many things about it, but it is kind of large, so not the best in my car. I know some people here loved the TrueFits, and others just like to know what seats are in what stores. I you would like any recommendations, start a thread and we can help!

The True Fit Premier is the only seat my son doesn't have head slump in forward facing so I love it :)

I loved the lockoffs and premium latch on the true fit, but now it has baby trend latch and I believe the lockoff is only on the premium model. I also like the arb, which is no longer. The true fit has a lot of leg room, so I'd rate it higher than a clone. I don't like trying to stuff a long-legged child into a rfing clone.

I didn't like the true fit ffing because the head wings were too wide to be useful. I was intrigued by the new headrest design, but didn't get around to trying it. If I see a blue baby trend convertible for sale, I just might buy it

I haven't tried the BT version, but I hated my TFP and was thrilled the day it sold. The installation was extremely hard for us and required rolled towels -- that was the seat that made me understand the stereotype of parents huffing, puffing and sweating over car seat installs! It was also absolutely enormous. That seat may have had something going for it against other 2010 vintage seats, but it didn't hold a candle to the Nextfit that replaced it in our lives.

I thought I was the only one who hated the True Fit, though I had the SI version. Annoying to install and no matter what I did, for some reason my 2 year old exceed up leaning to one side with one of the straps falling off his shoulder. It was so irritating. I swear the foam in our seat just seemed so noisy. I do use it when I visit my mom a few states away though. I dread it even then.

Nope, hated mine too. Was so glad when I crashed it!!

I actually felt badly selling the seat without including the phone number for a local tech. I included the manual of course, but I don't know how a "normal" parent can install that seat without a lot of struggle. I'm sure I would do better now after a few years of experience, but seats like that definitely contribute to the 90% misuse statistic :(

I have my son's old True Fit in the closet. It is not even expired I plan to take it into the trade in event. I will not miss it one bit.

Looks like the ProTect has arrived at Target now too! Saw one while I wandered the aisles on my lunch hour.
