Turned my 3yr old

I had fully intended on rear facing past 3. Unfortunately due to this lovely new car I bought its not happening. Its so tight with 3 kids and the best combo I've found so far is ff radian/rf radian/turbo. The radians do not fit rf next to each other.

He loves it! I've had to teach him all about stop lights. Both ff kids are obnoxious back seat drivers now.

Awww..., he's so cute. Our van is letting me keep my just turned 3 year old rf, but I did acknowledge that if a situation comes up where it makes sense to ff, I think I'm ok with it now. I always laugh about the difference of looking out windows rf vs ff. my big kids always point out a playground or something and then 30 seconds later DD2 tells us about it all over again. Stop lights would be exciting though! There is a curious George episode about stop lights if he's excited about them now.

He is adorable! I ff my ds at 3 too. Funny thing, the first thing he wanted to know all about was stoplights too!

So is 3 an acceptable age to FF at? I was thinking 3 at one time, but so many say 4 is best.....

Its always safer to rf if they fit properly. It is safe to ff at 3, just not as safe as rf. Just like center is safest but outboard is safe. Side airbags are safer, but cars without are "safe" too.

Thanks, I'm going to RF longer in my van. But it's harder in DH s van, so was sorta considering FF in that van, which he almost never rides in.

Glad to know it's safe at 3.

Love the sleeping pic btw.

3 is my rock bottom age if it means new seat, new car, whatever. If there's no reason to turn and my DD still fits, we'll aim at 3 1/2 or 4. If circumstances force us to turn at 3 then, I will be ok with that.
