Has there already been a thread about the new Nissan NV3500 passenger van?

DH just talked to the dealership again. He said they won't be getting one in for another few weeks for some reason. But he said they now have prices. DH asked him what the fully-loaded version would run........$40k.

Ouch.

Looks like we might be keeping our van for a while until we can buy a used NV.

Yep, base price is $36k. Fully loaded is $40k, and then another $10,500 for the conversion...I think we will wait too. :(

Is it weird that I think $36-40k is totally reasonable?

I mean, the sticker price on my car new is over $40,000 and it only holds 7 and isn't anywhere near as slick as that. Aren't decked out Suburbans well over fifty grand?

Yes, and agreed. That's like Odyssey pricing, but with twice the passengers. I'm not saying it's cheap or totally doable for everyone, but it sounds quite reasonable for what you get.

Yeah, I mean compared to other vehicles it's not bad (for instance, a loaded Sequoia is $62k, a loaded Suburban is $50k, heck a new Sienna is $46k!!) but it's a lot of cash. The idea of dropping $50k on a vehicle makes my teeth sweat.

I don't know if I could spend $50k, either. I should mention we bought ours used. I was just saying they cost as much new...

I totally agree! I think it's actually a pretty amazing price considering all you're getting. Just not sure we can do it right now. Our current van is almost paid off. Not sure I can swallow starting all over again.

Gah! Why does it have to be such a great van?! This would be much easier if people kept posting about all of it's flaws. ;)

DH says if you each pitch in $1000 we'll buy it and then you can all come visit us and we'll give you a ride in it. :D

I suspect we're going to wind up paying this much for any vehicle, much to my dismay, but does it have to be soooooo big?? I'm going to want to fill it. I can see that now...
