we're looking at the Ford Fiesta but would like to have an Idea of what else is out there..

I doubt there would be much info on the Fiesta, since it's so new - so we will just have to take a couple of seats with us to try out..

we really want the car to do at least 35 mpg.. (fiesta does 40)

compact is in our price range!

Ford Fiesta

Toyota Yaris

Hyandai Accent

Nissan Versa..

Any others????

cheers

TIA..

A Honda Fit can get 35 if you're a conservative driver. I have a '10 and I get 24 city, and about 30 with a lot of mixed, but I'm a fly-off-the-line lead foot. I'm sure the base model can do better as it's lighter than mine.

I haven't installed any seats in it but it seems to be pretty straight forward. Just be aware that there are some plastic hinge covers in the seat bight that have been reported to cause some issues with some car seats.

But, it's an incredibly versatile car that can haul a ton of stuff or people...sometimes both.

I have a 07 toyota prius. I get around 46 mpg on average. When I travel in flat areas I have been know to avg 52 mpg.

I have installed hb and lb turbos, graco nautilus, radian 65 (does not install in center), britax husky, evenflo chase, evenflo truimph, evenflo generations, evenflo titan, evenflo big kids, and rstv. I have done a few 3 across. I frquently do a three across radian/husky/turbo or booster/husky/booster but I if I take the husky out I can get other 3 across situations.

I'm pretty happy with it.
