I am looking for a convertible seat to ERF I have a 7 month od with low muscle tone she can not sit up and does not have very good head control. I drive a Dodge Caravan she is on a captain seat I need something that is easy to get her in and out. She is 18# and 29 inches. I have a $250 limit. TIA

Hello!

Could you tell us a little more about your needs?

~~ Is your baby the only passenger in the rear seat of your vehicle?
~~ How tall is your baby?
~~ How much does your baby weigh?
~~ What is your budget?
~~ What vehicle(s) do you drive?
~~ What are your goals for ERF?

It sounds like your little one still needs more recline than other kids. If you let us know how big/small s/he is, and how does their shirts match up to their pants (this lets us know if you have a kid that is all legs or long torso-ed, which changes our seat rec's) we can help you. Oh, and what car(s?) it will need to be installed in.

ETA: dang autocorrect slowed me down too much, lol.

She in a 3-6 month tops and in 6-9 month pants, 18 pounds, we only take the kids in our 2012 Dodge van my husband has a 1999 blazer but it is very unlikely he would have her. I have a 7 year old she is in the third row in a high back booster, my 4 year old is in the other captain seat in a Graco Nautilus still in the harness. I am hoping to ERF her as long as possiable due to her low muscle tone.

Great! Thanks for the answers to the questions!

It sounds as if your daughter has longer legs than torso, which for carseat use is great! It also sounds as if you don't need to worry about fitting her seat next to another seat at this time, which is, again, great!

Because your daughter does have long legs, I would avoid seats that are known for having little leg room. I would also hesitate, due to your daughter's low tone, to recommend seats that don't have a lot of lateral support.

I think the [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Size4Me-70-Convertible-Car-Seat/dp/B0092KT2S0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376355395&sr=8-1&keywords=graco+mysize"]Graco MySize70/Size4Me/Headwise [/ame]might be a good option. It is a big seat, so it will look as if it is swallowing your daughter right now, but she will quickly grow into it. :) It has a lot of support for her torso and head and will last a VERY long time rear-facing. It is a seat we generally recommend to parents of long-torsoed children, but I still think it would be a good option for you due to its longevity and support.

I also think the [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Chicco-NextFit-Convertible-Seat-Mystique/dp/B00AHPZY68/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376355328&sr=8-1&keywords=chicco+nextfit"]Chicco NextFit [/ame]might be a good option. It too is a big seat that might look overwhelming at this time, but it won't for long. It too has a good amount of support for a low-tone child and will last a very long time rear-facing.

There are many other options, but the two above would be my top-two recommendations for your situation.

I love my Graco My Rides. It's more reclined than most seats both RFing and FFing. Plus it had two cupholders, nice for little toys, etc...

For the Graco My size can I use pool noodles to get it to the correct angle? I think I really like the way it will support her body .Is it hard to get the child out of this seat RF? I don't know of any stores around here that will let me try the seat in my Van first.
