Replace after collision

Someone posted on a local board about being hit in a parking lot.

Son was still in infant seat in car and daughter was just taken out of vehicle.

Cop said that he never heard of replacing seat unless car was a write off. And insurance company is saying no need to replace unoccupied seat. Blah!!!

Told person to quote the manuals that say to replace seats after any collision. Keeping my fingers crossed that this goes easy for her.

Hopefully it does. Was this somebody in PEI?

I wouldn't count on the police officer to know that a seat should be replaced after any collision - carseat use and replacement isn't in their job description in most cases. The insurance company should be aware though and should replace it.

Yes, this was here in PEI.

I find some of the police understand to replace, but definitely not all.

I am waiting to see what happens when she hears back from the insurance place.

Hers is Cooperators, not sure whos the other persons is.
