I didn't see the recaro pro ride convertible car seat reviewed as a recommended car seat and wondered why? I was considering this or the Chicco nexfit but because the recaro wasn't listed was kind of regressing whether i should consider the recaro still? Does any one have any information about the recaro and how it compares to the other recommended convertible car seats?

Thanks so much!

Hi Beth, welcome to CSO!

I didn't do the reviews, so I can't say for sure why they didn't include the ProRide. However, I do know it has a 35lbs rear-facing weight limit (as opposed to 40+ for most of the other recommended seats) and according to our database it has a comment in the manual that for rf the child must be less than 36 months. Which would be a negative for anyone wanting to extended rear-face for longer than that.

It also has next to no leg room for RF bigger kids. Between those two I would definitely go with the nextfit, it will last you much longer.
