Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Convertible Seat

Does anyone know anything about the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Convertible Seat? We just ordered one for our 15 month old who is 18 pounds and about 30 inches. It will be in a BMW X5. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. We also have a Britax Boulevard but have not installed that one yet.

It is a very nice seat. 45 lb rf limit and relatively tall for rf too. I believe its a reasonably easy install as well. The boulevard is quite short for rf but is pretty easy to install. Keep posting if you have a more specific question!

Thank you. Our daughter is petite and we plan on rear facing for awhile. We don't mind buying another seat later. Our main issue is getting something very safe that works well for our vehicle. I know they all pass the same test but are they all really equally as safe in different types of vehicles? The boulevard needs to be tethered or should be according to the manufacturer and this one doesn't. How does that impact safety?

Tethering rear facing reduces rebound. Its one of those things we don't know how much rebound is ideal. Both seats are very safe, they really have very comparable safety features.

We have one installed in a 2005 X5. I really like/love the seat. There has been some confusion on proper use of the infant wedge and crotch buckle positions, but if you can get past that (it's really not a big deal for me) and the pretty poorly written manual, then I think you will be very happy with it. I did find that I need one pool noodle to get a great install because of the little hump in the seat bite. Not sure if that could be an issue for you depending on the year of your BMW. If you have any questions specific to the install, I can try to help! As for the seat itself, really nice fabric, premium latch connectors, relatively high harness for rearfacing, high rearfacing weight, significant headwings, buttery smooth adjuster...just some of the reasons we love the seat!

Also meant to add that Peg was supposed to be releasing a rear facing tether option to this seat this past month. I haven't checked to see if they have or not, but it would be retroactive.
