need to order 2 tether anchors for a 97 geo metro.

I believe Geo was a division of GM. I would contact your local dealer about the parts. I'm away without my LATCH manual so hopefully someone will come along and chime in with the part number and confirm that GM is indeed who you need to contact.

Yes, you'll need to contact a GM dealership for the part number info according to the LATCH manual's Geo section. The Metro is not listed as an excluded model in the LATCH manual's Geo section (unlike the Geo Prizm and Tracker 2-door which are listed as not having tether anchor retrofit kits). However, specific Geo tether anchor retrofit part numbers are not listed in the LATCH manual for retrofittable models because the part numbers for GM vehicles tend to change over time, and GM dealerships are supposed to have the up-to-date part number information. Also refer the GM dealership to GM Technical Service Bulletin Number 99-09-40-004a which has detailed info. about GM's policy of providing 1 top tether anchor retrofit free of charge (free part and free labor to install it) for retrofittable GM vehicles in the U.S.
