Need Advice...seat for center jumpseat in Odyssey & 3 across

My DS is FF in the 3rd row, my DD is RF behind the driver in the 2nd row. She'll be RF at least another year. Both are in Radians.

My youngest is in a Snugride in the center seat of a 2012 Odyssey. I'm going to need to upgrade him soon to a RF convertible.

I really don't want to get another Radian, I find them difficult to use and given it is the middle seat I don't want to deal with the problems others have encountered with the angle.

The other issue is that our other car is a small SUV. So, there could be occasions (emergencies or if my car is in the shop) where we would need to put all three kids in the SUV. So, I need a seat narrow enough to fit with two Radians.

So, what are the narrowest seats next to the Radians that I might have an easier time getting into the Odyssey, but that will also fit 3 seats in a row in a small SUV?

I should mention too some preferences...he will be around 6 months when I move him, so he will still be fairly small. Also, I would prefer something with no-rethread harnesses. Also, since he will be in the middle, I really don't want him to have a seat that will come through the front two seats (does that make sense?). So, I don't want a really tall one. Once my DD is FF in a year or so she'll move to the middle and he'll move RF to the drivers side. I suppose I'd be happy with a transition seat to get us through the next year until he moves to the outside.

I was able to get 2 True Fit Premiers and a Radian RXT in the second row of our 2012 Odyssey. (Radian was on the passenger side.) So you could definitely get a TFP in between the Radians in the Odyssey, but I'm not sure about your SUV. Could you try it out at Buy Buy Baby? It has the no-rethread harness, and it's pretty easy to get a tight install, in my (amateur) experience.

Edited to add: although the TFP is a tall shell, I never had any issues with the front seats with a RFing installation, even in a Grand Am or a Passat. It will last your son for a long time, too.

I didn't check them, but I think their installs might be tight enough. My friend has a Graco Nautilus ff'ing, rearfacing Recaro Como, and forward facing Graco MyRide...so quite a bit of seat can fit three across there.;)
