Question Need A Convertible Car Seat that fits my tiny Lexus IS250

Hello

My little one is about to outgrow his infant seat and I need to find a convertible car seat that will fit in the backseat of my 2007 Lexus IS 250. I currently use a Chicco Keyfit 30 behind the passenger seat but it makes my front passenger seat basically unusable for anyone over 5" tall.

I'm hoping to make a better purchase this time around. Ideally I would like to place the car seat in the middle and rear facing for as long as possible, but this probably won't work in my car.

My son is 6.5 months old, weighs 21 pounds and is 29" tall. He is above the 99% for height and 85% for weight.

Thanks!

This is a good place to start: http://carseatblog.com/22818/the-ul...ertible-space-comparison-review-size-matters/

The Pria is pretty darn compact. I was just playing with one yesterday, and it allows for a pretty upright recline. The downside is the 40" RF height limit.

The Britax ClickTight seats would give you the most height (especially the Boulevard and Advocate), but some don't like the shorter legroom.

I think that the Graco ones listed there could be a good choice, too.

You'll probably have to try them in your car and see if one fits between the front seats better than another. What will work in what car is very individual!

I would skip anything with a 40" or shorter standing height limit for a baby that tall that young, for fear they will hit it before getting to a safe ff age (especially with you saying you want to rf as long as possible). I would highly recommend looking at the britax clicktight Boulevard/advocate, graco size4me/mysize/headwise/fit4me, britax clicktight marathon, or graco 4ever or milestone. All have a 40# rf wight limit and no standing height limit. You might need to have your front seat pushed forward for a few more months until he has better head control and the seat can more upright.
