Nautilus harness problem

Usually, after pulling the harness tight on my child, I give the harness a tug to make sure there isn't any slack. Today when I did this, if I pulled hard enough, I was able to pull the harness all the way out loose again (slowly and with some force, not easily like when I hold the release lever). I checked that the little lever that releases the harness wasn't caught open, and it didn't seem to be. I repeated and it happened again. When I checked my other Nautilus, it stayed tight as I expect.

This seat is 2.5 years old. It has been in our secondary car, where it doesn't get as much use, but last week I moved it to our primary car. I have been using it all week and didn't notice this issue until today.

What is wrong and how can I fix it? It doesn't seem safe to me because it seems like the force of a crash would cause the harness to loosen and be useless.

I third that.
Uninstall it and look it over really well to be sure there's nothing caught. My DD likes to collect little rocks, and I can see one getting caught somewhere like that. If that's not the case, though, definitely call Graco.

I ended up uninstalling it and pulling the straps back and forth a bunch of times. After maybe 10 back and forths, it started to work normally again. I guess something was catching on the lever or something and that cleared it out? Graco did offer that if I couldn't fix it I could send it back to them and they would replace it, but I don't think that will be necessary now. Thanks!
