Keyfit travel system

What do you think of the Keyfit travel system? I'm not a big fan of travel systems, but I haven't been in the market for one in a while. It is for a shower gift.

How do you like the stroller when used without the infant seat?

Thanks.

It's "okay". I'm very lukewarm about it. I like it better than the Graco travel systems I've used, but I find it clunky and slow to maneuver vs better strollers. Of course I love the KF30, and it's nice that the stroller canopy and the KF canopy meet to provide a nice dark little cave, but as just a stroller, it's really just meh. It does lie almost flat, but the "bassinet" area is really quite small -- didn't fit my larger-than-average 3mo DD2 comfortably. It does remember your recline setting, though, which is a nice feature -- you don't have to reset the seatback each time you collapse and then unfold it. DD1 (37lbs, 42") barely fits in the stroller, and it's REALLY heavy to push with her in it -- does not roll smoothly. It's not truly one-hand maneuverable, either.

So...if I didn't get an awesome deal on the travel system, I'd just go with the KF30 and an adaptor onto a nicer stroller. Right now I'm using the KF30 on top of my old BOB jogger (circa 2007) and loving that combo, even with how huge and heavy the BOB is to get in and out of my Ody. I'm salivating over the B-Readys now that there's that awesome promotion going on...will probably break down and get one soon! The KF30 will snap nicely onto that with the adaptor, I've heard ;)

I really liked the Cortina stroller. I am not someone who is willing to spend $500 on a high end stroller, it's just not worth it to me. It's a lot nicer than the Graco ones I've used. I used it extensively until I had my second child and needed a double. I used to walk about 4 miles a day to and from the grocery store with that thing and it still pushed easily loaded up with groceries in the basket below. I'm sure it's not on par with a higher end stroller, but it was totally sufficient for my needs.

It's not going to be like a $500 stroller, but for a basicish travel system stroller, I think it's nice. I liked it better than the Graco ones I test drove at the store. I used mine for almost 3 years and never had any issues with it.

I loved mine. My first. :) I sold it to SIL to fund my BJCMicroD, and she loves it, too. :)

ETA- FWIW, a friend of mine has bought and disliked two other strollers. She keeps going back to the Cortina.

I liked the stroller but found it way too bulky - it doesn't fold up very compactly at all. I used it until we stopped using it with the infant seat, then bought a Britax Blink, which I love. I still have the Cortina stroller and might consider using it if we go to the zoo or someplace like that, because I do like the child tray, the parent tray, and the slightly bigger storage basket. :twocents:
