would you buy a $200 used phil and ted sport with doubles kit or spend the $600 for a new phil and ted explorer with doubles kit. I love all the updated features that explorer has but the other side of me says you would save $400 its not a hard decision. I'm just worried that i will regret not getting the one with the better features.

I use it with one of my babysitting families and I can't say it's been an issue, however most of the walking I've done has been inside shopping centres.

I had a sport (with doubles kit though I never used the doubles kit).
Here's what I didn't like about it:
awful canopy (easy fix with protect-a-bub - they make a shade that works for both seats)
brake was difficult to engage and disengage
Fold could be difficult to master

I believe they fixed these things on the new explorer, however I wouldn't pay an extra $400 for the fixes :)

Also, I believe the doubles seat on the SPort reclined and on the explorer it does not.

As for the recall, I wouldn't be too concerned. As with the Maclarens, I can't figure out how you would get your fingers caught (even more so with the P&T)... The recall was for the Sport v2 and classics. It did affect my sport which was purchased in 2009...
