Hard to tell in the picture but are the straps at or below the shoulders?

Radian lets you gave straps below when ff. It's the ears to shell that I can't figure.

It looks to me that his ears are still below the top of the shell. The manual however, does [not- edited] appear to be very clear whether the ears need to be below the top of the shell, or the top of the headrest. Unless I'm missing something.

The darn wings make me constantly question where his ears line up with the outer shell. You are right that the manual is clear..I just can't apply that to looking at my kid and not question where things align.

That should have read the manual does not appear to be clear- whether it is the headrest or shell that the ears need to be below. He looks ok either way for now, but you might want to call Diono for clarification.

Looks like he's got a couple inches before the tips of his ears are even with the top of the shell. I'd guess he'd be way uncomfortable by that point.

I think his shoulders will soon start to rub on the bottom of the headwings as well.
