Is it time to go backless?

DD is 7 1/2, 63lbs and 52"

She is begging to go backless. Hates her Britax Parkway.

We are in a 2015 Honda Odyssey. She rides in 2nd row captains chair.

Is it time? Are there less bulky options before going backless? I don't think any will be met with a thumbs up from her, but her safety is number one.

Can you try using the parkway and lbb mode first to see if it fits her well and she sits well in a lbb. If she does and still hates the parkway then you could start shopping for an lbb

At her age and size using the booster without the back is a safe option (as long as she sits straight and the belt fits correctly). My DD preferred her Parkway without the back once she was bigger (she was 8 when we took the back off and just put it back on for long drives so she could sleep easier). She may find the parkway backless perfectly comfortable, there is more leg support since the seat is deeper without the back. I'd definitely take the back off to see how it goes if you want rather than buying a new seat right away, although my kids' favorite NBB is the $13 Harmony from Walmart so it's not an expensive alternate.
