Got my grape Coccoro for 2013 Sienna! Now to install...

I specifically bought this seat to put in the plus one seat so I can sit next to the baby on longer trips and free up space for my huge 11 year old. Anyway, I got it installed but the armrests on the two captain's chairs interfere with getting it level and tight. I am going to have to take them off but need to wait for DH to bring home his socket set. I did not see that mentioned anywhere else... or am I missing something?

Well, DH took out the inner armrests and it installed much better. Having the shoulder portion of the belt behind the car seat shell makes it quite tight, but also twists the whole seat a bit. Is that a problem? I never installed a seat like that.

Is that why, per your other question, about lockoffs, that they require you to use the lockoff instead of locking the belt? To prevent tipping when the shoulderbelt keeps retracting? That's one of the only reasons to use a lockoff or locking clip instead of locking the belt when you have the free sliding latchplate: to prevent tipping.
I was hoping with a CCO would chime in here!

I had that thought, too, but on my other thread, why would they insist you use it all the time, even if it is not tipping?

Also, it is not really tipping, just the slightest swivel, barely noticeable.

Well, it's possible they want it to just be held to the belt to prevent slippage along the belt, that would be function three here http://www.carseat.org/Technical/tech_update.htm#Lock-off

(1) prevent movement of the belt relative to the latchplate, (2) maintain an applied tension on the belt from the floor anchorage through the latchplate to the lock-off, and (3) prevent movement of the CR relative to the belt webbing. If performing function (1), the lock-off replaces a locking clip. If performing function (2), it does not replace a locking clip but eliminates the need for one. It is still useful to lock the switchable retractor, if this feature is available. Function (3) is intended to improve ride-down and pre-crash stability by keeping the CR from sliding relative to the lap portion of the belt, but this lock-off usage does not fix the lap belt length or maintain belt tension. Function (3) does not replace a locking clip or the lockability feature of the vehicle belt.

This got confusing and these threads should be merged. Anyway, I am not a tech so do not really know about this, but in this reason #3, given that it is routed Euro-style and is in super-tight (DH and I did it together for extra force), I don't see how it could move at all relative to the lap portion of the belt.

However, I guess I will go clip it on anyway!
