Getting a bit worried...

Ds is 6 1/2 yrs old and about 49" tall and 52 lbs. he is in a fn 85 but doesn't have that much space left, he slouches a lot so it's hard to tell. If he sits up as straight as he can he is about even with the top slots but he doesn't maintain that posture. Unfortunately he is no where near ready to ride in a booster. I have one for emergencies but unless an adult is back there with him, it wouldn't work. I have a hard enough time with him not messing with the harness staps/buckle. I'm really starting to stress about what to do when he outgrows his seat!

What kind of vehicle do you have? If you drive a van and his seat is in a captains chair, you could try installing his seat in the third row. Most likely that would give you a bit more harness height and more time.

Otherwise, the only taller harnessed seat (non-special needs) is the frontier 90, but you likely won't gain enough time to make that worth the $. So, first, I would recommend trying thr seat in an alternate seating location if possible. Then, you might consider buying a high back booster to start booster training on short car rides.

I drive a 2014 nissan sentra. I placed it out board and it gave it a bit more room but not tons. I have a turbo booster safety surround that i could use to practice on
