Frontier 90 in 2007 expedition center second row

Installation was a breeze BUT it said not to recline it if the headrest of the frontier hit the seat headrest. It is secure at the belt path but dh yanks around on the front of the seat and there is more than an inch there. Also the tether looks weird since it has two straps

I'm new posting here and am having technical difficulties ;)
The center seat has a funky style headrest that is higher on one side but it doesn't have a removable headrest like the other two seats. Does this mean I cant use the recline feature in the center position?

Are you installing with LATCH ? What kind of vehicle?
Also, as long as there is less then 1 inch if movement at the belt path you are fine. The top tether in Britax are two sided, called Versa Tethers. That's just the style. Is it getting hung up somewhere or are you not able to get it snug?

I think you're okay to use the recline if you want to. I think that is meant to keep you from reclining the seat when a headrest sticks out, keeping it away from the seat back.

That center seat is weird with Britax tethers (I have a 2005). I let it lay wherever it will naturally, and usually crank down a little harder on the tether than I normally would. My cloth seats are squishy, so that extra bit of squish keeps it from sliding off. Your leather might not be as pliable.

It feels very stable. I reinstalled with the latch belt a bit tighter. I can slip the tether strap off the high side so I will get dh in there to tighten the tether a bit more.
I really wanted to use it in reclined mode to hopefully keep away head slump so I am happy to see that the top touching the top of the seat isn't an issue.
Thanks!
