Evenflo securekid 400 as a booster

Hi
I bought this carseat/booster combo on a whim today since it was an returned open box for 84.99 (but never used, tags on etc) I see lots of good reviews for it as a carseat but wondering if anyone has used it as a booster and if it really works for that purpose? My 4.5 yo is 45 in 40 pounds.

Welcome! It makes a good booster, but I find the belt guides really annoying. Take it out and try it. See what you think. My 4yo rides in it harnessed. I'm planning to get him a different dedicated booster when the time comes.
