European routing Coccoro - no need to lock belt?

I am on vacation by myself and just washed the cover so need to reinstall. We usually do the European seltbelt routing and its always been my husband that installs the seat. Did some searching and I am confused whether I need to lock the belt or not. It seems a lot of people don't use the lock off clip or lock the seat belt and its fine. Is that correct?

According to what the Combi rep has said in the past, you don't need to lock the belt as long as the routing holds it tight. It will work with some belts; not with others.

If you do need to lock it, you can use the removable lockoff or switch the retractor.
