Educating Sitter

I have 2 questions:
1. Is there a link to a document or website that explains in user friendly terms why rearfacing is so important? My daughter is 18 months and we have a new sitter. Her daughter is 5 and she thought that keeping my daughter rearfacing until 2 was ridiculous. I know she will do as I asked, but we plan to rearface well past 2 and I'd prefer she understand why.

2. My daughter will ride in a G4 Roundabout in her car. She drives a 2 door Isuzu Rodeo, probably 5-10 years old. I was going to install the seat for her, but the car wasn't there when I dropped the seat off. She said she knew how to install it, but just as I was leaving and I quickly mentioned not to worry about the back tether, as I knew there'd be no clip for it in her car, she said something about using both the latch clips, and the seatbelt to install, just to be safe. I'm pretty sure this is a big no-no, although I couldn't find any mention of it in my manual. I will install it on Monday morning for the first time, but I want to be sure if it is taken in and out, that she puts it back in correctly. Is there a cheat sheet or website that I can re

Hello!

For #1, this might help: http://carseatblog.com/5168/why-rear-facing-is-better-your-rf-link-guide/

For #2, you're correct that LATCH and seatbelt shouldn't both be used. Given that 90% of seats are installed incorrectly, I would be concerned about an inexperienced person installing the seat. It might be best to find a Child Passenger Safety Technician near you. Not only will that make it more likely the seat will be installed correctly, it might help if the babysitter gets information from a third-party expert source.

You can find a tech here: http://cert.safekids.org/find-tech-0
