Boosters with LATCH

Are boosters with LATCH any safer than boosters that can slide around? I need to get DD a new booster for DH's truck and just wondering if it makes a difference if it has LATCH. Or is the use of LATCH just convenient for when the child isn't in the booster, to keep it secured and not flying around??

We don't know. Over the years, I have read (from studies or manufacturers): it's safer, safer with rigid LATCH but not flexible LATCH, safer in some impacts (side?) but not others, doesn't make a difference, and less safe.

I imagine there's just not enough data to know yet, and it may very well depend on the situation.

I personally like it from a convenience standpoint, but I can't claim there's any safety benefit (other than not having an unused seat floating around unsecured).
