Bike Seats

I thought I might get some good information here. We're in the market for a bike seat for DD to use this year. Wondering if anyone can recommend any good ones or pros and cons about them? We were looking at the iBert and have heard good things about it, but I don't know much about bike seats in general (things to look for, etc.) He needs one that can come on and off easily, because he uses his bike to commute to work. He'll likely be riding on roads as well as trails, so we don't want a trailer, plus he wants to be able to talk to her.

Thanks!

I had a Co Pilot Limo bike seat. I liked it when my DS was smaller, but I really like the Burley better. I've read a lot of reviews about trailers being a lot safer than seats. I think my son likes the trailer better because he can sit in there and play with toys, he's not in the direct sunlight, when it's cold or rainy I can pull down the plastic cover to protect him, if the bike falls he doesn't...
But it really depends. If your going to be riding on narrow streets, a bike seat would be better.

southpawboston helped me tremendously when I was searching for a seat for my bike. I ended up getting a Kettler because of C's size and the fact that it WOULD work with my bike. There are a lot that it won't work with though. I love that it has quick connectors so I can take it off easily to load my bike on the bike rack, ride without him, etc.

But I agree with pm'ing southpawboston

Thank you all! We're going away for the weekend but I'll definitely do that when I'm back. My husband will be riding on roads often enough that we're not comfortable with a trailer, though there is a lot I like about them. Plus, he's a bit deaf so wouldn't be able to hear her at all in a trailer if she needed him for some reason, so he likes the idea of her being closer to him.

I have a [ame="http://www.amazon.com/WeeRide-Kangaroo-Child-Bike-Seat/dp/B001DF68MA/"]WeeRide[/ame], which sits on the front like the iBert. My only issues with it are:
1) The 5-point harness slips off her shoulders if I'm not careful. I have an old Britax chest clip that may find itself a new job this year!
2) When she's feeling silly, she likes to hit me in the chest with the back of her head/helmet. It doesn't hurt, but it can be annoying. Fortunately, she's fairly easy going, and usually stops when I ask her to, but if you've got a more persistent child, it could be an issue.

Other than that, I really like it.
