Best Seat for Subaru Wagon & Suburban

We currently have a 99 Subaru Outback Wagon & GMC Suburban. My 13 month old has outgrown his infant seat. He is currently 18lbs and 30". We are looking for a seat that will last a long time and eventually be compatible with another infant or convertible seat. We plan on having a second child soon and will need a new infant seat.

Recommendations for seats which will last or pair well with another?

We used to have a '99 Subaru Outback. We had a classic style Marathon that fit well RF (we had it on the passenger side). Thinking of other seats that are available now I would think the Evenflo Triumph, Graco Myride or Size4Me70 would probably also work well. (the size4me will be the tallest of those for RF the longest).

I don't have any experience with Suburbans so I can't help there. There have been a few threads recently about them though so it shouldn't be to hard to find some info.
