Question !5 passenger van and good installs.

Hi, we regularly use a 15 passenger van and have our 20 month old rf in the center of the front bench seat. However we will be adding another carseat to the front bench soon and are having a hard time with moving the convertible seat from the middle(lap belt only) to the seat behind the driver so the infant seat can be in the middle. When we install the seat there(lap/shoulder belt) the seat ends up crooked leaning down towards the buckle and up towards the shoulder belt. Is there something that would be causing this or do you have any advice to make it sit right? Due to needing to use most of the other seats in the van we can't easily move the convertible to another middle seat since it would cause us to lose an extra seat since you wouldn't be able to get around it.

A slight lean is not a concern as long as the installation is secure. The locking of the shoulder belt can cause the lean. If you are uncomfortable with the degree of lean you can use a locking clip in place of locking the seat belt. The locking clip goes over both portions of the seat belt within 1 inch of the latch plate (male end of buckle). Buckle the seat in, pull the shoulder portion snug without locking the shoulder belt, pinch the lap and shoulder portion of the belt together behind the latch plate and unbuckle without letting go of the seat belt pinch with the other hand. Add the locking clip within an inch of the latch plate then rebuckle. Having a helper to unbuckle as well as to help you recompress the seat and buckle at the end is very helpful if possible.
