Question 3 safe skim seats to fit in ford escape

Hello,
I have a 2 year old, a 1 year old, and a baby on the way. Financially we are not in a position to purchase a larger vehicle. Currently we drive 2008 escape. What car seats are considered slim yet safe? I have a graco snug fit and a forward facing omega. My 1 year old us in a rear facing but may be moving to a forward facing soon so I'd appreciate some suggestions in both forward and rear facing car seats
