2004 ford Taurus help!

I have a 2.5 yo rf in a radian rxt center seat right now, and lo #2 due in April. I think we will need to move them both outboard, because ds hangs his legs over the sides. Right now, his seat barely touches the sides of the front seat, but I think if we move him outboard it will get in the way of the front seat. I cannot find in my car manual anything about bracing (doesn't mean I didn't overlook it, that thing is huge!), and really, I haven't tried this install so I'm not sure if we're looking at "light touching" or "bracing" does any one have any experience with this?

Also-I am confused about the new latch laws. Best I could tell from reading is that In my 2004 ford the radian can use latch until the child weighs 48 lbs, and I don't have to add in the weight of the seat. Am I correct In that thought?

And one last question... I know it's a matter of opinion, but would you put the baby (Chicco infant seat) behind the driver or passenger seat?

Your LATCH weight limits for your vehicle are 48lbs child weight (so you are correct). Of course then you must make sure you read the manual on your child seat to see what the weight limit is (although if it's an RXT I think it has SUPERLATCH).

I don't know the ins and outs of that year vehicle and it's rules with touching the seat back. Look in the airbag section of your manual - that's where any restrictions would be listed. Have you looked into an Angle Adjuster to create more room between the Radian and the front seat? Thirdly, I prefer the infant behind the driver since that's the street side. Occasionally we park on the street and it's quicker to load an infant bucket in on that side than loading a toddler.

Hope that helps!

Thank you! So if the cars manual doesn't specifically say that nothing can touch the front seats does that mean its ok for the seat to? I have an angle adjuster just in case but I worry about him losing leg room. (Although I'm sure he's fine I just baby him and don't like to change things haha)

The AA won't change leg room much, especially if he already hangs his legs over the sides. He might even like it better--he'll be able to see out the windows better. Moving to the side is more likely to upset him, I'd guess.
