2 Convertible Rear facing in a 2-door Volkswagen GTI

We have 13 month old twins who are starting to get a bit too long for their Chicco Keyfit 30s. We bought the Britax Roundabout for our minivan and really like them. However, we also need to get carseats for our nanny's car so that she can drive the kids around. She drive a Volkswagen GTI (2-door). We haven't tried the Roundabout in her car yet but I was wondering if there are convertible carseats that would fit ok in her car. At this point I am really not sure how it is going to work.

I drive a VW Passat, so not sure about the front to back space, but a Roundabout would work really well in my car. I do not have a ton of front to rear space in the back seat. If you are looking for more affordable seats, Cosco Scenera or Evenflow Tribute might be something to look into. You could also look into the Combi Coccoro (which are just the cutest LOL). The best thing to do would be to see what fits and installs best in that car and go with that. Do you have anywhere locally you can try seats if the Roundabout does not work out? Walmart, Babies R Us, etc?

The coccorro doesn't last long. It last about the same amount of time of many of the larger infant seats.

I would try your roundabouts in her car and look at longer lasting seats for your minivan.

Roundabouts will fit a GTI, but I wouldn't want to do 2 rfing in that car since you are only going to end up with about 10 inches between the seats.

I would try to cut a deal with her to switch cars when she has the kids instead. Maybe pay her insurance and routine maintenance as compensation.
