We're considering this van. http://rochester.craigslist.org/cto/5583380971.html
It's too far away for me to go look at it; if we pursue it DH will go to check the mechanical stuff, but he doesn't usually do carseat installs. In the pictures I had concerns about the ridge on the fronts of the seats (where knees bend), as well as the high rigid seat belt stalks, plus *what* is in the center of the back bench. The owner has kids and carseats and says you have to use the locking clips on the installs for the l/s belts. Now I don't know too much about the different types of retractors. I have switchable on my l/s. My lap belts have the locking latch plate. Between DH and the other guy's descriptions to each other on the phone, it sounds like the center of the bench has the lap belt with locking latch plate (though they both kept emphasizing it comes from the floor and up through the seat. I'm guessing they're just talking about where it is anchored, but maybe that means something else to you all who are knowledgeable on this?).
So now I'm concerned about the l/s belts requiring a locking clip. Or lock offs, though our current seats don't have them (except the Coccoro I guess). But I *thought* perhaps without any basis for this thought, that all seat belts were lockable now. Maybe not? So these are ELR? It's a 2004. But then too it's a conversion, so could that be why?
Thoughts on those rigid stalks? Also, any guesses on a seat installing in that center seat on the rear bench with that small indentation? If we can't put a carseat there then this van is no better than our suburban for us (aside from NO ONE COULD HIT EACH OTHER!! )
