Three car seats for one kid are NOT enough

because you never know when you'll need to do 3-across.

DH just IMed me and asked if we could watch a coworker's kids (ages 4 and 5) for a few hours this evening. Um, sure, but all of our toys are baby toys. We don't even have any video games to stick them in front of for a couple of hours. What do we do with them? We could go to the park. Then we need carseats. The kids will be coming with boosters. I don't even know if they're HBB or backless. The only way that I know I can get 3-across in my car is with 3 Radians. I have two. I haven't tried DH's car, but I don't think it will be much better.

Oh, well. I guess if we go anywhere, it'll be two vehicles.

When we ask people to watch our kids knowing they might need to transport them, we leave our vehicle. Easier for us and them. Can you borrow/trade with them and get your seat in their vehicle? If the park isn't far, and you and husband are going anyway, 2 cars isn't so bad.

Their vehicle isn't much bigger than ours. And the park isn't that far, so if we go, it won't be that big of a deal to take two vehicles.

The kids will be coming armed with dinner, leapsters, coloring books and crayons, etc., which I found out after my previous post. I'm not so worried any more about keeping them entertained for the approximately 3 hours. Plus we have a dog who will do his best to entertain the boys.
