Frontier and MyRide Dilemma

I'm not sure if any remember, but a few days ago I posted about my friend wanting to get a forward facing seat for her 2 yr old daughter. She decided on the Frontier and, during my search to help her find the best deal, we found that we could get the seat for $197.10 on aafes.com with a 10% added coupon. I couldn't pass the deal up myself so I purchased one for my son as well. He just turned two as well and is about 37-37.5 inches tall and between 33-34lbs right now. He has a MyRide in my van and a True Fit in my husband's Neon. He has been putting on weight faster these days so I anticipate him hitting 35lbs within the next couple of months, hence why I got the Frontier...lol. Now, here will be my dilemma. IMO, the van is much safer to ride in than the Neon since the Neon is such a tiny car and much lower on the ground. When he hits 35lbs, should I put the MyRide in the Neon rear facing and the Frontier in my van or keep the MyRide in my van and put the Frontier in my husband's Neon? My thinking right now is that Caleb should ride in the safer position (rear facing) in the least safe vehicle (the Neon). The van is the main vehicle but he rides in the Neon at least 3 days a week and more on the weekends when we take short trips. Am I thinking too much into this or am I on to something here?...lol. Opinions are appreciated. I tried him out in the Frontier a few days ago at a local store and he fit great in it so I'm comfortable with having him forward facing in it. I'm just not sure I'm comfortable having him forward in the Neon right now.

I'd totally do what you're planning... most safe seat (rearfacing) in least safe car. When he's too big to RF, I'd switch them, assuming they both install safely in each car.

Just my humble opinion :)

I know the MyRide installs great in the Neon but I have no idea how the Frontier will work in either vehicle since I just ordered it last night...lol. I guess we'll see but thanks for the help. I just feel that the Neon isn't as safe as our Grand Caravan but I'm not sure if that is really true.
