Question Floor Anchors in minivan

My sister in law is expecting twins and needing to move her 6 and 3 year olds to the rear seat in their 05 Montana van. The rear seat only has 1 anchor in the middle. They really don't want the two kids side by side but, of course, the 3 year old needs to be anchored. My brother-in-law swears that he read in the manual that you can anchor a seat on the side, through the headrest to the anchor in the centre. (But alas, said manual has gone missing). They are going to call the dealership, but I thought you all might have the correct answer. Any thoughts?

The manual states that the third row bench (not stowable) has two tether anchors- one for each outboard position:

An anchor bar for a top strap is located at the rear of
the seat cushion for each second and third row outboard
seating position, and for the center position of the
Second Row second row.

That is found on page 1-61 along with a picture of the third row locations.

information for the stowable 3rd row is on the next page:

The anchor bar for the stowable bench seat is located
on the passenger’s side of the crossbar. Use the center
seating position to use the anchor bar properly. If the
convenience center is in the vehicle, you must lift
the tray sill to use the anchor.
