How to destroy car seats

I've only had to trash one before after it being in an accident and Sears did it for me after I installed the new one.

I have a HBB/5pt and a backless booster that have both expired. I assume I just chuck the fabrics and straps but what to do with the plastic? Anywhere to recycle? I'm in SW Ontario.

Thanks

I believe officially you're supposed to cut the straps and sledge hammer the shell so no part of the seat is ever usable again. I still have my little brother's expired car seat from the 1990s. I like to look at it and see how far we've come! I would never use it but lately I've been thinking I won't get rid of it.
