Thinking ahead, WWYD?

DS#2 is 3 and a quarter years old and currently rear facing in a Radian XT. Three months ago I swapped out his Marathon (in Canada RF limit 30) and got the XT so he could continue to RF a while longer because after much debate I wasn't comfortable turning him forward yet. He is currently 29lbs and change maybe 30lbs and change I haven't weighed him for a month or so. Based on currently growth patterns and charts he very well could be 4 or 4 and a half before hitting 35lbs (RF limit on the XT).

Thinking ahead.......

Should I get a Complete Air when they actually hit the shelves here which will probably get him to 5+ years old rear facing! or assuming he is at least 4 before he hits 35lbs just pass down DS#1's Frontier and not look back when the time comes.

Anyone in the US able to chime in with any reviews on the CA? I am liking the Radian XT so far with the exception of a bit of head slumping when he sleeps. If I like the CA better than the XT I would get it anyway.

With the potential of having a child rear facing to 5+ years of age would you continue until that age if circumstances allowed or have turned them before for other reasons?

Thank you!

My problem with the CA is the stated height limit. I can't say for sure since I'm not there yet, and since the XTs go to 40lbs here, but I think I would probably just use your XT to 35 lbs and then move to the Frontier.

I personally will be doing something to that effect. Though hopefully not the CA, im crossing my fingers that more 40lb options will be available by the time my DD needs a higher limit seat then her 30lb rf'ing MA (even if i have to get a 35lb seat in the meantime). Some people have commented saying im going to be wasting money, and effort to keep replacing seats just to get an extra 5-10lbs rf'ing. But I want to keep her rf'ing as long as possible, money is no issue, so quite frankly im gonna do what I want to do provided seats are available.

can you elaborate? I thought with that one you were able to go until the top of the headrest? I mean all seats have their inch limits, but isnt it widely known that you pretty much ignore those and go by where their head is in relation to the top of the shell/headrest?
